1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the website bostonfoodsafety.com (the “Website”), purchasing any products or services, or registering for any training course or exam, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use this Website or purchase our products or services.
This Website is operated by Netiza LLC d/b/a Boston Food Safety (“Boston Food Safety,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Massachusetts limited liability company with offices in Boston and Woburn, MA.
2. Services Offered
Boston Food Safety provides the following services through this Website:
• ServSafe® Food Protection Manager certification training (classroom, online, onsite, and exam-only options)
• ServSafe® Allergen awareness training
• ServSafe® Alcohol training (coming soon)
• TIPS certification training (coming soon)
• Choke saver certification (coming soon)
• Sale of ServSafe educational materials (books)
Boston Food Safety is an authorized ServSafe® training provider. ServSafe® is a registered trademark of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF). Boston Food Safety is not the National Restaurant Association, the NRAEF, or the Massachusetts Restaurant Association — we are an independent, authorized training provider.
3. Account Registration
You may need to create an account to purchase products or book training. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as necessary. Boston Food Safety reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain inaccurate information or violate these Terms.
4. Purchases, Pricing & Payment
All prices displayed on the Website are in US dollars and are subject to change without notice. We make every effort to ensure pricing accuracy, but errors may occur. If a pricing error is discovered after your purchase, we will contact you to confirm or cancel the order.
Payment methods:
• In-person classes and exams: Credit/debit card, cash, or check (payable to Boston Food Safety).
• Online courses and books: Credit/debit card only. Payment is processed through Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor.
By submitting a payment, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.
5. Refund & Cancellation Policy
All sales are final. No refunds are available for any products or services. In-person classes and exams may be rescheduled for free within 90 days of the original booking date. Onsite group training may be rescheduled with at least 72 hours advance notice. Online course purchases are final once the license key has been delivered. Book sales are final once shipped.

6. Training & Exam Policies
Photo ID requirement: All examinees must present a valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or state ID) on exam day. No exceptions.
Proctored exam requirement: The ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Exam must be administered by a registered ServSafe proctor. All in-person exams take place at our Boston or Woburn office, or at your location for onsite group training. Self-proctoring is not permitted.
Exam conduct: Any form of cheating, use of unauthorized materials, or disruptive behavior during the exam will result in immediate dismissal, exam invalidation, and forfeiture of fees. No refund will be issued.
Retesting: Per ServSafe retesting policy, examinees may take the exam 2 times within a 30-day period. If a 3rd attempt is required, the examinee must wait at least 60 days. No more than 4 attempts are allowed in a 12-month period. A new exam fee applies for each retake.
Certification validity: The ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification is valid for 5 years from the date of passing. The ServSafe Allergen Certificate of Achievement is valid upon completion. Certification validity is determined by the National Restaurant Association and local regulatory authorities.
7. Online Course Terms
License keys: Online course license keys are delivered via email immediately after purchase. Each license key is for single use by one individual and is non-transferable.
Course access: You have 90 days from the date of activation to complete the online course. After 90 days, access will be revoked. No extensions or refunds are provided for expired courses.
Technical requirements: Online courses require a device with internet access and a current web browser. It is your responsibility to ensure your device meets the technical requirements before purchasing.
8. Shipping (Physical Products)
Physical products (ServSafe Book) are shipped via USPS Priority Mail at a flat rate of $12.00 within the United States. Estimated delivery is 2–3 business days. Orders are processed and shipped within 1 business day. A tracking number is provided via email.
Boston Food Safety is not responsible for delays caused by USPS or other circumstances beyond our control. If your package does not arrive within 10 business days, contact us and we will initiate an investigation.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on this Website — including text, graphics, logos, images, and software — is the property of Netiza LLC d/b/a Boston Food Safety or its licensors and is protected by US and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
ServSafe® is a registered trademark of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Boston Food Safety uses the ServSafe® name under authorization as a certified training provider. All ServSafe® materials, exams, and certifications are the property of the NRAEF.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on this Website without prior written permission.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Boston Food Safety and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this Website, purchase of products or services, participation in training, or exam results.
Boston Food Safety does not guarantee that you will pass the ServSafe certification exam. Exam results are determined solely by your performance on the exam as administered by the National Restaurant Association’s testing system. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the specific product or service in question.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
This Website and all products and services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Boston Food Safety disclaims all warranties including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Boston Food Safety, Netiza LLC, and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of this Website, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Website shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts.
14. Changes to These Terms
Boston Food Safety reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Website after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
